Prices vary depending on text type and difficulty as well as urgency, but a guideline cost for a text of average difficulty would be around £55 per 1,000 words. Translations are usually delivered on computer files sent by E-mail attachment unless otherwise requested.
 

INTERPRETERS

All Tuscan Conference’s interpreters are trained in interpreting, and can provide highly efficient professional interpreting services for conferences as well as customised services for individual meetings, business relations, special delegations, etc. They are trained in using the fixed installations in official conference rooms, and Tuscan Conference also has contacts with a number of firms that provide mobile installations for meetings arranged in special venues.

Simultaneous interpreting:
This is the classic interpreting requirement, generally set up at international conferences, with interpreters working in special booths; the interpreters are hidden from view but you hear their voices through your headphones, translating the speaker’s words instantaneously, and you are able to follow the proceedings of your conference even if you don’t understand a word of the language !

This kind of interpreting is suitable for large conferences, taking place in a vast auditorium or conference hall, and operating under strict time limits.

Consecutive interpreting:
In this case the interpreter is usually visible, and delivers the translation after the speaker has stopped speaking; the speech is therefore divided into sections, with pauses for the interpreting after each section.

This kind of interpreting is suitable for a smaller gathering, with a more intimate atmosphere, and not quite so pressed for time.

Chuchotage:
This is a form of whispered translation, destined not to the entire assembly but to an individual who is not familiar with the language used at the assembly, or with the language of some important figure with whom a special personal meeting has been arranged. The interpreter sits or stands close to the person who requires translation and whispers the meaning into his/her ear.

This kind of interpreting is suitable for cases when an individual client needs oral translation services.

Liaison interpreting:
This is an informal type of interpreting when two parties need to liaise with one another for any purpose, such as business relations, delegations from associations visiting other countries on an informal basis, school trips, cultural visits… The interpreter joins in the activities and assists both parties with language services, translating orally in both directions at the end of each spoken sentence.
